Hello Everyone,
It is a wonderful time of year as we have just finished celebrating and honoring two important holidays and are transitioning from winter to summer. I hope that you were all able to reflect and celebrate the freedoms that those major holidays represent: Easter where one gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we could all be freed from our own personal evil and darkness allowing us to freely live and give; and Memorial day where we honor those that have feely given to protect those freedoms which we so greatly enjoy through their great sacrifice.
I would also ask everyone to give special encouragement and support to those and their families who are serving in Iraq. These brave men and women and their families have made this world a safer place. The Canadian Press reported SimonFraserUniversity in Burnaby, B.C. research that showed world wide terrorist attacks have dropped by 40% between 2003 and 2007. An IntelCenter study revealed that since 2004, al-Qaeda terror attacks, outside of the war zone in Iraq, dropped 65% and fatalities from those attacks dropped 90%. In addition, there have been no attacks on
U.S.A. soil! We owe our troops and their families a huge debt of gratitude. Please join me in thanking them.
New People at GFD
The big news is that Dr. Maria Ramos will be joining me as an Associate Dentist. She graduated from Marquette
University in 1986 and is a very jovial, caring, family oriented and skilled doctor. Her presence allows us to offer additional services such as additional root canal therapy and orthodontics in the form of “Invisalign”. Please join me, Dr. Stubbs, and my staff in welcoming her to GFD.
New Processes at GFD
We have upgraded our imaging software and skill sets. We will now be updating your full facial smile picture in our system. This allows us to see and match your look if you ever have a facial/mouth injury or accident. An additional benefit to you is that you can do some “what if” scenarios with your smile right during your appointment. So, if you want to see what your smile would look like with whitening, straightening, gum sculpting, removing tooth gaps, or etc., you don’t have to guess but can actually see what the results would look like before you decide whether the treatment is appropriate for you.
Key Products
Cancer has touched us all either through personal experience, friends, or family. My husband’s sister-in-law has just recently been added to that list. It has been theorized that free radicals contribute to the cancer progression. To address this, GFD is carrying a Premium Acai berry based drink called Mona-Vie that has been reported to deal with the free radicals in the body. It therefore, has the potential to lessen the risk of cancer. This all natural, 19 exotic fruit, 100% juice blend with no water added might be a product that can help especially if you have a high risk of cancer in your family. People that have already purchased the product from us are reporting additional benefits such as more energy, increased restful sleeping, find getting up in the morning easier, and improved regularity. Two, 1.5 to 2 ounce servings per day will provide the equivalent of 5 servings of fruit and vegetables and enough protein to equal one egg.
We are also continuing our offer to treat oral sores in cancer victims with out advanced laser technology for free. This includes any friends and relatives that you might refer to us. Those that have been helped are reporting almost immediate pain relief.
The cold and flu season is over. However, all of us have experienced summer colds and they are usually nasty. One of the reasons we change out tooth brushes during your professional cleaning appointment is to make sure that you’re replacing your tooth brush which can harbor bacteria. Violight provides tooth brush sterilization after each use which is healthier for you and helps fight things like colds and flu. The manufacturer has forwarded some of these devices at a new lower price, so now they are more affordable than ever. There is also a Violight wand to sterilize computer keyboards, telephone pads, and countertops.
Some Final Thoughts
When my patients’ dental health could be impacted, I feel that I should at least inform them of the issues. There is an old saying, “Be careful what you wish for, you may get it!” This is not a political plug for anybody but in this upcoming election season, politicians will be promising us everything. One of those promises is universal healthcare. I agree the current system could use some updating but no where in the world has universal health care worked as well as our current system. Please be careful not to be fooled by universal healthcare’s sweet sounding claims.
My husband, the economics major, can explain how moving from free markets to socialized medicine will drive the best and brightest doctors away, lets costs skyrocket with no checks and balances, lowers service availability, causes quality to deteriorate, and wrestles the treatment decisions away from the patient and their families giving it to a government administrator. With multiple examples operating throughout the world from all the communistic countries to the democratic countries like Canada and
England, not one of these socialized/liberal/communistic systems have been as effective as our system and in most cases have been disasters. And for every dollar of free medical service you receive, it will probably cost us $3 to $4 of government bureaucracy. Or in other words, our “free medical services” will end up costing us more than our current health care 3 to 1.
From my perspective, I treat people from all over the world, some of whom have access to these so called “free” medical systems. I guess it says a lot when you are willing to travel 7,000 to 10,000 miles to avoid using those systems. One family, coming to us from
England which has socialized medicine, has related that the desire to serve, grow and improve dental care just isn’t there. In that system, the outlook is fatalistic, patients are an inconvenience and there is no motivation to innovate.
My trips to
Russia when adopting our youngest daughter also verified this. The dental offices they wanted to show me were the free market offices started in the late 90’s and not any of the communist offices which had 80 years of time to perfect. Dental care in rural areas and government orphanages were nonexistent even though everyone supposedly had access to these free services. Indeed, there is not one current operating free health care model that would serve my patients well.
On this July 4th remember to stay vigilant in the protection of freedom and thankful for the country we live in. To be free, one cannot be a slave to fear. To be free one needs to accept responsibility. Our “Founding Fathers” designed our freedom to pursue happiness because they knew that freedom becomes slavery if it’s used to avoid responsibility. With all the alarming news surrounding us today, it’s important to be positive, to have courage, and to remember that each generation before us had the courage to face and defeat their fears and hardships. We too have an opportunity to shine as we defeat fear and courageously use our responsibility of freedom to pursue our happiness. Here’s to those that have the courage to be free. Have a great and safe July 4th.
